The Dominio di Bagnoli is a property unique of its kind. Over 1,000 years of history—and more—together with agriculture, still live on and are preserved today within its walls.
The Dominio’s primary activity has always been agricultural, dating back to 954 AD. It was the Lombard Duke Amerigo who donated the Dominium to the Curia of Padua, which established a brotherhood of Benedictine monks. Thanks to them, these lands were reclaimed and cultivated, leading—between the 10th and 13th centuries—to the creation of what are now the cellars, granaries, warehouses, the courtyard, and the brolo (orchard).
In 1656, the Counts Widmann became owners of the estate and built, on the site of the ancient Abbey, one of the largest monumental complexes in the Veneto.
Its proximity to the Serenissima Republic of Venice made the Dominio di Bagnoli a beloved retreat for great Venetian artists such as A. Bonazza and C. Goldoni, who wrote “The Coffee Shop” here, as well as renowned poets like Ruzzante and Pastò, who celebrated the estate’s wine, Vin Friularo—one of the finest wines produced in the time of the Serenissima.

Created from the restoration of ancient stables, the residences consist of three apartments, carefully renovated and furnished to recreate the atmosphere of a country home.
Each apartment features two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a kitchen, and a living area.
A beautiful infinity pool, complete with umbrellas and sun loungers, is reserved for the exclusive use of the residence guests.
A venue featuring a large fireplace overlooking the farmyard, ideal for promotional presentations, meetings, food-and-wine courses, as well as birthday lunches or dinners, graduation celebrations, First Communions, and Confirmations.
The complex, classified as a national monument, covers an area of approximately 200,000 square meters and includes: Villa Widmann-Borletti with its monumental garden, historic cellars, granaries with terrace, venues for catering, and a park of exceptional natural value.
Civil wedding ceremonies can now be legally celebrated at the villa.
A 17th-century granary, unique for its impressive size (1,200 sqm).
Its name derives from a fresco of the “Madonna delle Messi”, placed to protect the harvests.
The magnificent double wooden trusses are the work of the master shipwrights of the Arsenal of the Serenissima Republic of Venice.
A venue for conferences, congresses, corporate receptions, and weddings.
Capacity: up to 800 people.
The winery vinifies various grape varieties, producing white and red wines, either fresh and young or aged in large oak barrels.
The most distinctive grape is Friularo di Bagnoli D.O.C.G., an autochthonous variety of very ancient origins.
Its wine, characterized by marked acidity and tannic structure, is extremely versatile, capable of long evolution, and shows an excellent aptitude for aging and for the production of structured wines with a broad, aromatic bouquet.
The gardens in front of the villa are enhanced by important statues by Bonazza and include a “green theatre” featuring statues depicting characters from the Commedia dell’Arte.
The gardens can host art events, concerts, and weddings.
The theatre is equipped with a “Son et Lumière” lighting and sound system for evening performances.
