Villa Manzoni Valcasara

Villa Manzoni Valcasara, presumably built in the first half of the 16th century, is attributed to Antonio Francesco Olivera, a pupil of the Veronese architect Michele Sammicheli.

The villa offers an example of typical Vicentine architecture of the period, featuring original terracotta floors and exposed ceiling beams, interspersed with coffered wooden craftsmanship.

The frescoes in the main hall, depicting women, cherubs, ornaments, and flowers, are, according to critics, attributed to Paolo Caliari (known as Veronese).

The rustic buildings, visible from the front garden, are adorned with imposing rusticated columns, inspired by ancient Roman models, reinterpreted by Sammicheli.

The villa includes a private chapel, open for worship and dedicated to Saint Rita.

Villa Manzoni Valcasara is set amid vineyards, which further enhance the charm of the entire complex.
