Villa Emo Capodilista stands on a high hilltop in the Regional Park of the Euganei Hills, not far from Padua and Venice.
This evocative Villa Veneta was designed as a hunting lodge by the architect and painter Dario Varotari, a pupil of Il Veronese, in 1568.
The villa still belongs to the noble family that commissioned it then. Villa Emo Capodilista has a perfectly symmetrical square floor plan and distribution of the rooms.
The interiors are decorated with frescoes and trompe l’oeil works depicting the family’s history, mythological scenes, putti, grotesques and friezes.
The villa, surrounded by an Italianate garden, overlooks a magnificent bucolic landscape. The Villa is part of the Conte Emo Capodilista farms, which produces wines recognized for their quality by important wine-sector guides.
