Borgo dei Conti della Torre

Villa del Borgo dei Conti della Torre is a magnificent 17th-century historic residence on the banks of the Tagliamento River, in the province of Pordenone.

The origins of the illustrious feudal family can be traced back to the Frenchman Napoleone Della Torre; among the figures who lent luster to the family pedigree were three patriarchs of Aquileia, a cardinal, bishops, prelates and gallant knights.

The recently-restored complex comprises the Villa, a Barchessa (farm building) with swimming pool, the  Gastaldia, the 15th-century Chapel and a building for bed and breakfast lodgings. The  Villa’s first or “noble” floor conserves fine late-18th-century frescoes, 19th-century wood floors and original beams.

The Chapel, decorated with frescoes from 1511, is still consecrated. The Barchessa with the swimming pool offers a charming location for weddings and events, while the Gastaldia has 11 guest rooms.

A large Italianate garden with a fountain surrounds Borgo dei Conti della Torre.

The first floor of the Villa offers a spacious central room with noteworthy late-18th-century frescoes.

The entire first floor has original 19th-century wood panel floors, original beams, and two rooms with an unusual, elegant frescoed-draping decoration form the early 19th century.

On the ground floor are two large rooms opening directly onto the garden, with charming original beams and amusing country-scene decorations created by Ciro Cristofoletti around 1965.

The chapel dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul, with 15th-century origins, is consecrated and can host around thirty seated guests. It contains a notable 1511 fresco depicting the Trinity with Saints Rocco and Sebastian, protectors against the plague.

The Barchessa annex with pool offers another space in which to hold gala dinners, parties and events as well as business meetings and assemblies.
